MAINTENANCE
We want to provide our customers with a low cost solution to service their equipment and maintain high quality of service. We service your equipment with quality aftermarket parts from various suppliers, if possible. Most of these aftermarket parts are manufactured by the same companies that provide the parts to the equipment manufactures. Up to 80% of the parts we have access to are MADE IN THE USA!!!
Blade Sharpening
At Joe's Small Engine Repair, we do not just pull your blades off to sharpen them. We pull the complete mower deck off. We clean the underside, remove the blades, check the mandrel housings for cracks, spindles and bearings for excessive wear, and pulleys and belts.
After all the inspections are complete, we not only sharpen the blades, we also balance each blade to ensure there is no excessive vibration. After, the unit is put back together we also do measurement to ensure the unit will cut evenly.
Routine Services
During a routine service we first pressure wash the equipment to ensure we can see all part of the unit. We inpect all pulleys and belts, ensure all safety switches are operational and no cables bind that would prohibit safe operation. All safety devices must be opertional before it will be allowed to be picked up or delivered.
When we change the oil we run the motor to ensure any particulates are suspended in the oil so they flow out with the old oil. We also change the fuel and air filters while inspecting the fuel line for dryrot. The spark plug inspected, cleaned and gapped, replaced if necessary.
We also ensure the tires are in good condition and inflated properly.
Storage Prep
When we get a unit for storage prep I perform all of the steps for a routine service plus drain and clean the fuel bowl on the carburator and treat the fuel.
I run the unit on the treated fuel for appoximately 15 minutes to ensure the fuel treatment has made it thru the whole fuel system. I advise that if the unit has a fuel shutoff, turn the fuel supply off and let the unit run out of fuel. I can install a fuel shutoff if you desire for a minimal charge.
